Snuffed tapers sighed as Death left impressing, his crest of cold tears on the Countess.
Everything started going bad at the 25th of January, 2011. Roughly a month has passed and already everything changed, humanity just wasn’t ready.
No one was prepared for what happened, not in a thousand years they weren’t. Everything happened so quickly, the disease spread like wildfire, consuming everything and everyone in its path. Who would have guessed that this would have happened anyway? Some say its divine punishment for our sins, most say it’s some kind of mutated or even dormant virus that has swept the entire globe. What I do know is that when it all began, no one was ready for it. Whoever died rose back again, not to join their loved ones once more but to tear them a new one.
Those things attacked every living human they laid their eyes on, no one knows the reason why they hunger for our flesh alone. What we do know is that they’re incredibly dangerous, a single bite is usually enough to turn anyone else into one of them. The last reports all over the world seem to indicate that they have overrun the human race. There are still many of those living, roaming the world in a never ending struggle for their lives. Everyone does what they can to survive, some doing the most heinous acts in order to do so. There are few good hearted people in this world, that much is certain for those who wander this earth.
Thieves, murderers, raiders and plunderers are among the many of the inhabitants of this wretched excuse of a place. There are still those who try to survive but still do the right thing, as said before however they’re very few and far between. Once highly populated areas are now of high risk, because of the overwhelming numbers of the undead but these present the highest possibilities for a good finding. And in this day and age, its finders keepers. What will you do in this world?

This is an apocalypse based kind of board... Use common sense in your threads and in your characters. We’re currently based solely on the Los Angeles State County, the city itself is the most populated city after New York itself in the United States. There will be a few locations we’ll be making available for the players to wander on, later on as the place grows who knows what might happen. For now we do ask for everyone to keep their characters bound to these places, it’s a big place already so don’t complain.
For the purpose of the board we’re stating that the plot starts about six months after the initial virus outburst. Every type of government has pretty much collapsed in itself, although we’re not adamant that some military wouldn’t have kept together under some type of political or military leader. For now, they’re unavailable but as said before that might change later on down the line.
Things that should exist in various places, within reason of course include such as:
* Weapons, if you know where to look. Same with ammo.
* Batteries, for whatever electric appliances that might need them.
* Non-perishable food sources, like cans of beans and whatnot.
* Most buildings would still have running water, although the water supply is slowly dwindling. This is a place where drinkable water would be in high demand, so expect people to kill for it or fiercely occupy buildings with surplus of water.
* Fuel, there still exist quite a few places with it, although one should note that most people would hog as much of it as they could. It is expected for it to become a rare commodity, so be cautious when trying to get it.
* Regular electricity is still available in some structures, but huge black outs have already occurred.
Items that are obviously nonexistent in a post-apocalyptic scenery:
* Television. No you’re not watching Family Guy or The Simpsons around this place. Simply put, nearly all broadcasts have come to an halt.
* Telephones. You’re not getting any regular means of communicating with other people, this will be the old fashioned way.
* Very difficult to maintain fresh food, due to the black outs that usually have a few hours between them. It’s not impossible but it’s getting harder every day.
* Current currency is of no use these days, therefore barter and hand to hand trading is in effect.
